• Lead efforts to integrate water, sanitation, and hygiene into climate change policies, influencing government bodies and sector actors (INGOs, NGOs, donors). • Collaborate with government systems and sector stakeholders to promote climate-resilient water and sanitation in national policies and planning. • Influence policy and governance on climate change to embed water, sanitation, and hygiene into all climate-related work, including systems strengthening and monitoring. • Support the organization’s work to promote ownership of climate-resilient water and sanitation by working with government entities and decision-makers. • Advocate for climate-resilient water, sanitation, and hygiene at national and international levels, including participation in international climate conferences. • Ensure the organization’s presence in strategic consultative processes related to climate change and sector governance. • Conduct national water, sanitation, and hygiene budget analysis, creating policy briefs to inform advocacy and influencing funding priorities. • Assist in designing and implementing local government-level projects that incorporate climate change resilience into water and sanitation services. • Promote the integration of climate-resilient water and sanitation services into national and local government programs and advocacy efforts. • Build the capacity of the organization’s and partner staff on climate change, water, sanitation, and governance issues to ensure effective program delivery. • Collaborate with business development teams to design impactful projects that promote universal access to climate-resilient water and sanitation. • Lead the documentation of lessons learned in climate and water governance, supporting internal and external knowledge sharing.
• Master’s degree, preferably in Environment/Climate Change, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in policy advocacy related to climate change, with a preference for experience in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene.
• Proven track record in policy advocacy with demonstrated skills and achievements. • Strong understanding of climate change and water, sanitation related issues at both national and international levels, including familiarity with government structures, policies, and frameworks related to climate change. • Proficiency in climate change terminology, including adaptation, mitigation, loss, and damage, and their interconnection with water and sanitation. • Prior experience working with government entities, development partners, or INGOs is highly advantageous.
